Whoah. It's like Dynasty.
Rochelle uses a horse bow, Adam longbows, and Mimi and Ritchie recurve. They all do their own thing but it's a cool way to spend time together, and they're down at E.T. Seton Archery Range a lot. Who doesn't feel good when they spend their summer outside?
I like to imagine the little dude's name is like they've mashed up the name of the range. He's been coming out with the fam since he was, like, new new. Strapped to Rochelle like a little bundle. She just arched around him. He's more mobile now, so his folks take turns keeping him busy while the other's at the line.
When I got talking to Adam, it turned out we'd met at AEMMA while he was making a bow. It twigged me to remember he picked up archery from his granddad. Sure enough, he had his gaffer's bow with him. The one he made from Osage Orange in the 1930s. It hadn't been strung in decades and it wasn't all that clear if it was ok to set it up but someone at the range helped Adam work it in gradually so he could put it back to use.
So here's a family with generations of archery cred. And they're just super awesome people, so say hi if you see them around!
