When you join Paul Micallef's bow-making class at the Academy for European Medieval Martial Arts (Dupont and Ossington), the wood's a pre-cut piece of oak lumber but otherwise you're doing it old-style. At AEMMA, you can learn archery - or swordsmanship, or using a lance, or a poleaxe - with the context of medieval study. We have everything in this city, no?
The students point out that for $250 dollars they do something unusual, learn a skill a lot of them will use again and they take home a bow. If that sounds keen to you, there's usually a session in the early months of the year. Paul schedules it based on demand, so drop him an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and get your name down for the next round!
