I'm on vacation and I just thought I'd share a little tidbit from my adventures. I dig meeting people and a good place to start is with people who share one's interests. I did a bit of research before I left and found some things that fit the bill.
I spent an evening with the geocachers of Edmonton. These techy treasure hunters get together once a month for a pub night, and I partook of their excellent company and hot tips on where to find tupperware and other fun in town.
Everybody has a little handle that they sign off with when they find goodies, and the friendly face above belongs to GeoGuider565. She explained that there are a number of Geoguiders in these parts - Girl guide leaders by night and treasure hunters by um, other nights. But 565 doesn't exactly lead a troop these days. It turns out she specializes in teaching guides caching and archery! So we had a lot to chat about and it seems they're just as mad about archery in these parts as we are at home. 565 is gearing her girls up for a combo GPS hunt/3D archery event. Like just looking for lost arrows isn't enough searching!
Tara Vaughan lives with Rob Cruise and their pooches, Artemis and Louis in the East end of Toronto. They sort of dabbled in archery for a long time but actually got equipment a couple of years ago. Tara's loving it and Toronto and - Hey, look! She has a blog about them.
