When I cast my net through the surf of the, uh, net, the big fish is social connection. I love to toss a line to other archers. Especially in my big little pond of the GTA. So let's dive in and take a look at 6 facebook pages that relate specifically to Toronto archery:
-the fan page for this here blog: I'm still feeling out its usefulness but I was told I needed one, so like it, will ya? I guess it's one way to keep up-to-date on what I'm writing but frankly, I think it's much more aesthetically pleasing to come to the actual blog.
-Bows and Arrows: A girl at work 'virtually introduced' me to her gradeschool chum, Melissa, based on our mutual interest. She ran a group to coordinate real-world mingling at E.T. Seton. When Melissa's business started keeping her really busy she tagged me in as the administrator.
-The Toronto Public Archery Range: Run by users of the range, if you have any questions about what goes on at E.T. Seton, I totally recommend it.
-The Toronto Winter Archery Club: For the hardy and many-layered, a forum to arrange for some company at a time of year when the archer can find herself rather lonely.
-Shawn's Archery: A well-known archery instructor in these parts, he has a fan page which is great for general info and inquiries and there's a corresponding group page for those who've gotten into his pretty awesome classes to communicate with each other.
There you have a little social-network sampler for the Toronto archer, and I'm sure there are other fish in the sea. If one appears on your sonar, please pass it along. I will say all of these work best when there's more activity, so the more people that follow them and engage each other, the better!
