I’m pretty into archery, obviously, and one of my brothers is interested in taking it up, too. Everyone thinks it’s pretty good schtick and when my mom stumbled upon Kawartha Traditional Archery, we got the idea to have an official activity as part of our Christmas this time around.
A big ole black dog ran circles around our cars as we tried to park. We filed into the cosy cabin of a shop, where the fam got suited up with gear. Fred, the owner, did a lesson for us and hung out with us while everybody got in practice shots inside a tent, which also looked pretty great, strung up with Christmas lights and full of plastic Bambis and burlap birds. We got a real snowfall the night before, so it was picture perfect at the outdoor range, which has trails with animal dioramas. Crocs and kangaroos. Traditional for Christmas, no?
